Do I need to know how to film?
Not at all! The camcorders are set up so that a kid could use them (and we recommend it: kids get the best stuff). Our filming guide will help even the drunkest groomsman get the best/worst footage. This isn't meant to be a professional video, and that's a huge part of the appeal.
I already have a photographer or videographer. Do I need this too?
They complement each other perfectly. The pros cover the big moments; the camcorder gets everything they don't: the BBQ the night before, getting ready in the morning, the dance party after the pros have gone home.
How long can I rent it for?
Our minimum is 3 days, so the camera arrives before your event and you can send it back the day after. Need longer? Add extra days at checkout, or choose the weekly package for a week-long trip, a cruise or a month of backpacking.
How do I get my films, and how long does it take?
About three weeks after we get the kit back, we email you a download link with your full home movie, your 1-minute recap and your footage. Back them up in at least two places: we keep a copy for six months, then it's all yours.
Can I choose the music?
Yes, kind of! For your 1-minute recap you pick from our big library of properly licensed songs (fun, silly, romantic, 70s, 90s…), so musicians get paid and your film never gets taken down.
What kind of camcorder is it?
Modern Panasonic camcorders: reliable, but with all the movement and zoom-ins of 90s home videos. We add the vintage vibe in the edit, so you get the look you love without a 30-year-old camera breaking down on you.
Can I take it on a plane?
Yes! Just pack the batteries in your carry-on. Note that many concert and sports venues don't allow video cameras, so check before you go.
What if something goes wrong?
We use new camcorders and always include spare batteries and cards. If something seems off, swap the battery and card, then call the support number we send you. If we can't fix it, we'll refund your money.
